Dana O'Brien, MS, LPC Intern

Dana O’Brien, MS is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and provides counseling services to individual adults and couples. Dana offers expert treatment for depression, anxiety, interpersonal discord, difficult life transitions, and past trauma. 

After completing her undergraduate education at Hendrix College in 1998, Dana worked with children and families in a public school and in after-school programs.  She also spent over three years raising funds for nonprofit organizations. Dana graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from University of North Texas in 2005. She counseled individuals, families, and couples at Galaxy Counseling Center, in addition to performing multiple psychological assessments for adults and children.  Dana also worked for Denton County Public Health Department, providing short-term crisis counseling to individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Katrina. She co-led anger management group counseling sessions, and she organized and led support groups for disaster survivors.  Dana helped develop a psycho-educational curriculum for use with families, and she has received extensive training in crisis intervention techniques.
